Concept, Advice & Ideas

Few things are more annoying than asking an architect to come round and give you some ideas about how you can increase your living space than them not being able, or willing, to share their experience for fear of not getting paid..

That’s why one of our most popular services is a preliminary meeting brainstorm you at your property to talk through ideas. We share our knowledge and experience to help you make the right decision, and by the end of the meeting you will have:

  • An idea of how you can set out the space
  • A breakdown of the potential building challenges
  • A rough idea of budgets
  • Alternative ideas on layout and design
  • An understanding of the planning / building process
  • A list of additional works you may need to consider
  • The knowledge to make a fully-informed decision

Once you are armed with this information you can then make a much better informed decision about how you want to proceed. We charge for the visit, which could be as long as two hours, normally £300.00, but this is a service that more than pays for itself because by the end of that meeting you will have:

Case Study

Steve & Julie had bought a character cottage in a quiet leafy lane that they wanted to extend, and had fallen out with their architect who they felt didn’t share their vision.

They asked us to look at what could be done with the house as they didn’t want to tear it down, but couldn’t see how to turn it into a family home.

We came up with the idea of doubling the footprint and re-arranging the internal layout to give them a contemporary interior with five bedrooms, three receptions and a 20’x30’ Kitchen/breakfast family room complex, while still preserving the architectural style of the exterior

They loved the ideas, and just over a year later completed the build.
